Del Mar Heights has long been one of the most prestigious places in Southern California to live, work and play.

Its graceful hillside residential enclaves house many of San Diego’s notable entrepreneurs and executives; its eclectic collection of boutiques, world-class restaurants and beautiful beaches appeal to shoppers, diners and visitors from across the region. These are among the reasons the community is also one of the most desirable places to conduct business.

Just ask those of us at Irvine Company. In late 2017, our company acquired Township 14, a 127,000-square-foot workplace community on High Bluff Drive.

Since 1982, we’ve proudly owned and managed some of the most iconic Class A workplace and apartment communities in La Jolla UTC and Downtown.

But Township 14 represented our first workplace community in Del Mar Heights, a place we’ve admired for a generation.

Suffice to say, we quickly jumped all the way in, also purchasing Gateway at Torrey Hills, One Del Mar and Paseo Del Mar, three more iconic workplace communities.

Our investments in Del Mar Heights reinforces our belief that San Diego will remain a world-class destination offering unparalleled lifestyle attributes that attract top talent across all high-growth industries. In short, it’s where innovative and prestigious companies — and their employees — want, and increasingly choose, to be.

Del Mar Heights is a wonderfully diverse and talented community that, alongside La Jolla UTC and Downtown, puts an exclamation point on San Diego’s renown as an international hub of innovation.

Irvine Company’s ambitious investment in Del Mar Heights underscores our long-term faith in San Diego, where the company owns and manages a portfolio exceeding 9 million square feet. Of that, 1 million square feet was added in the last year alone, an expansion of more than 10 percent.

Irvine Company’s total San Diego portfolio is currently more than 95% leased. We think that’s an undeniable testament to the region’s solid and enduring appeal, as well as to the value that growth-minded companies experience at Irvine Company’s workplace communities.

We believe the modern workplace is more than just a place to get work done — it’s a key component of a larger ecosystem that brings people together and drives business success. To support the success of our customers, we bring Irvine Company’s industry-leading workplace expertise and hospitality-style service to each of our communities. Our teams work closely with customers to understand their unique needs, tailor solutions that adapt as their business grows, and deliver seamless service that allows them to focus on their success.

Our San Diego portfolio consists of the most exceptional workplaces that are designed to respond to the changing demands of today’s workforce.

That’s the case in Del Mar Heights, where we have added our elevated service along with some physical improvements — specifically creating more dynamic indoor-outdoor workspaces — at Gateway at Torrey Hills, Township 14, One Del Mar and Paseo Del Mar.

Meanwhile, as part of a partnership with business incubators, Irvine Company proudly plays a role in the growth of new San Diego-based innovation-focused companies. At the same time, we continue to serve established, internationally acclaimed customers at our San Diego workplace communities, including Wells Fargo, UC San Diego, Jones Day, Neustar, Webroot, and many other leaders in a diverse array of industries.

San Diego has long been admired for its healthy economy, and Irvine Company’s investments and reinvestments in iconic workplace communities in La Jolla UTC, Downtown and Del Mar Heights promise to further strengthen the region’s long-term financial outlook.

Beginning with Irvine Company’s first San Diego acquisition in 1982, our goal has been to offer workplace communities that meet the needs of dynamic companies at every stage of their businesses.

We are confident the Del Mar Heights workplace communities will power companies, and their employees, success.
