Hitachi Vantara leasing 222,500 square feet at Santa Clara Square®

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — (January 9, 2018) — Irvine Company Office Properties announced today that Hitachi Vantara, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., and recognized leader in internet of things (IoT), cloud and data-driven solutions, has signed a lease agreement for a 222,500 sq. ft. building at Santa Clara Square®.

The company will relocate its headquarters from 2845 Lafayette Street, a 30-year-old office space in Santa Clara. The new headquarters building, which was completed this summer, will be located at 2535 Augustine Drive. Hitachi’s name will adorn the top of the building, and offer outstanding visibility to Highway 101 commuters.

In September, Hitachi Data Systems, Hitachi Insight Group and Pentaho were consolidated into Hitachi Vantara, a single integrated business entity that capitalizes on Hitachi’s Social Innovation capability to deliver data-driven solutions for commercial and industrial enterprises.

Designed by the world-renowned architectural firm Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, Santa Clara Square® features sleek, modern architecture with floor-to-ceiling glass for superior natural light and efficient floor plans for maximum flexibility.

Hitachi Vantara joins well-known Silicon Valley innovators AMD, Ericsson, Cambridge Industries Group and Veritas Technologies which are also leasing property on the Santa Clara Square® premises.

The Santa Clara Square® property offers the entire array of Irvine Company’s signature amenities and branded experiences.  Employees can meet outdoors or attend events at The Commons, an open-air common area featuring casual workspaces, which functions as an outdoor living room with complimentary Wi-Fi. They can grab a quick bite or espresso at one of two cafes. Customers also benefit from a bike share program and Irvine Company’s unique on-demand transit partnership with Lyft.

Another unique attribute of Santa Clara Square®: Customers can shop and dine at the 125,000-square-foot Santa Clara Square® Marketplace that’s anchored by a 50,000-square-foot Whole Foods market. The retail and commercial space includes upscale restaurants like Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and Il Fornaio a popular Italian concept, as well as an expansive common area for farmers’ markets, music festivals and community gatherings that are designed for employees from different companies to relax and build relationships that can benefit their businesses.

Built on 80 acres, the pedestrian-friendly project includes 30 acres of open space and parks on the premsies, including a Redwood Park Trail and links to the adjacent San Tomas Aquino Trail. In mid-2018, Irvine Company will christen an apartment community that will offer 1,800 luxury homes, offering resort-style living adjacent to world-class shopping and offices.  This property will feature a three-acre park, salt-water pools and in-line shops. Santa Clara Square’s Main Street will also add 40,000 additional sq. ft. of retail and services and serve as the community’s town center.
