Raising capital is always on an entrepreneurs’ mind. While there is no scientific method to raising capital, there are definitely ways to make the process less grueling and more likely to occur.
As an entrepreneur, it’s easy to work through the day with no thought of a lunch break. Fueled by adrenaline, our bodies suppress civilian style hunger pangs as we tirelessly slap our fingers onto our keyboards. We at The Vine think it’s time we put a stop to this madness and go out for lunch! Not only does Orange County has some of the best restaurants in the world, you may also want to consider taking out clients to these hip lunch spots, a power lunch is sure to impress and you just may close that deal…no promises, but it’s kind of a proven theory! Below are 5 lunch spots to check out next time you’re looking for a nosh during business hours.
Real Estate is expensive in Orange County. There are even certain zip codes within the county that are year-after-year ranked as some of the most expensive in the US. One of the main reasons for this? Location, location, location… and demand. People want to live, work, and play in the OC and who could blame us! Lucky for Orange County’s entrepreneurs, our great weather is the perfect backdrop for even greater outdoor workplaces. Sometimes a little Vitamin D can be just the medicine needed when the need for inspiration strikes! The VineOC is proud to be featured on this list of the best outdoor workplaces in Orange County. Come see us and check out some of the others as well!
On May 3rd The VineOC hosted a pitch competition and the turnout was incredible. More than 30 companies from all over Southern California and across all industries applied to pitch but ultimately only 12 were chosen to pitch in front of the judges and compete for the awesome prizes. Each startup had 3 minutes to talk about their company and to prove to the judges that they were the best by conveying their traction, passion and overall viability. While the many companies that pitched all have promising futures…there could only be one winner!
Fundraising for a startup can seem like a full time job. From countless phone calls to meetings with skeptical investors, the necessary process of fundraising is painful at best. Need some inspiration to stay at it? Back in 2008 the three co-founders of Airbnb were on a mission to change the hospitality and travel industry. They knocked on the doors of dozens of investors but no one seemed to buy into their idea. Just 8 years later, Airbnb is not only going strong but worth a staggering $25B. Now Cofounder and CEO Brian Chesky is sharing rejection letters from investors who passed on Airbnb in 2008 and are no doubt kicking themselves now. These prove that perseverance and believing in your idea in the face of doubt is the key to your startup’s success. Read more here, and make sure to save those rejection emails!
