Fresh off the news Mazda would relocate its North American headquarters a mile down the road in Irvine, its new landlord, Irvine Company, has revealed two more tenants at 200 Spectrum Drive.
Soon to join the 21-story tower are work-space giant WeWork and game communication leader Curse Inc.. The new tenants, including Mazda, will occupy 168,000 square feet of space, or 40 percent, of the new building, according to Irvine Co.
Michael Comperda, Curse chief technology officer and president, said the company would be relocating employees from San Francisco and Huntsville, Ala. to “develop a new base of operations on the West Coast.” The group leased 22,000 square feet.
Irvine will be the company’s new headquarters bringing Curse closer to developers like Blizzard and Obisidian and near Riot Games’ Los Angeles office. Riot recently made a $30 million investment in Curse.
WeWork is leasing 44,000 square feet.
“The location is ideal for entrepreneurs, startups, and small businesses and we’re looking forward to growing the WeWork community in Orange County,” said Mark Lapidus, global head of Real Estate at WeWork, in a statement.
After pending deals are complete, the building is expected to be 60 percent pre-leased, Irvine Co. stated.
