Global leader in commercial real estate joins growing list of customers at the new 15-story campus

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (February 13, 2017) — Irvine Company Office Properties announced today that Newmark Grubb Knight Frank (NGKF), a global leader in commercial real estate, will be moving its San Diego regional office to One La Jolla Center, the new 15-story office tower in University Towne Centre (UTC).

NGKF is expanding to Irvine Company’s new tower to better accommodate its rapid growth over the last year. The firm more than doubled its team, bringing over a number of the region’s top-tier brokers across a number of specialties including Pete Bethea, Rob Ippolito, Brunson Howard, Jess Lowe, John Jennings, Aaron Hill, Chris High and Steve Bruce. For NGKF, the new space will provide an opportunity to create a collaborative work environment for the team and support further recruitment.

“It’s an exciting move for our San Diego team. This highly-efficient quality environment is the perfect base for us to create a new work space that reflects our coastal location and encourages our teams to excel,” said Greg May, regional managing director, NGKF.

“The new space and surrounding amenities provide another reason for brokers to consider NGKF as we’re looking to grow even more in 2017,” said Pete Bethea, executive managing director, NGKF.

“We’re pleased that customers ranging from world-renowned law firms to newer, energetic tech companies, such as Webroot and Neustar, to nationally-renowned real estate firms such as NGKF consider One La Jolla the perfect workplace environment to thrive, grow and recruit and retain talent,” said John Turner, regional vice president, Irvine Company Office Properties.

One La Jolla Center is now more than 65 percent leased.

Prominently located at the I-805 and La Jolla Village Drive, One La Jolla Center offers 306,000 square feet of modern workspace in UTC. The project is near the recently enhanced Westfield UTC regional mall, the Costa Verde shopping center and several nearby hotels and outstanding restaurants, including the soon-to-open Red O.

Designed by internationally renowned architectural firm Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, the building offers nearly 10 feet of floor-to-ceiling glass for maximum daylight.

On-site amenities include upscale fast-casual restaurant, Bistro 24, which offers barista coffee service, catering and a diverse menu of healthy, gourmet-tasting foods, such as sandwiches, burgers, salads, entrees and more.  The workplace community also offers state-of-the-art fitness and conference centers; a Wi-Fi enabled outdoor “living room” with resort-style seating for more than 100 people for employees to collaborate or reboot; covered bicycle storage; EV charging stations; private showers, lockers and wetsuit drying racks.

NGKF Senior Managing Director Steve Wolf represented the brokerage firm.
