CHICAGO, Ill. (January 11, 2018) — Irvine Company Office Properties announced today that Andersen Tax LLC, one of the largest independent tax firms in the U.S., and JAMS, the largest private alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider in the world, have leased 45,000 square feet at 71 South Wacker, the 48-story iconic trophy tower in downtown Chicago.

Andersen Tax, founding member of Andersen Global, an international association of member firms, leased 26,000 square feet and will relocate from 222 West Adams in May 2018.  JAMS will expand within 71 South Wacker to 19,000 square feet.

“71 South Wacker is the ultimate business address in Chicago,” said Beau Rawi, regional vice president, leasing, Irvine Company Office Properties. “Andersen Tax and JAMS are already customers in our California portfolio so we’re excited to expand our relationships with them in Chicago, and contribute to their accelerated success and growth.”

As a long-term, single owner, the Irvine Company continuously studies the needs of forward thinking companies to transform towers into modern, desirable workplace environments that place the customer experience above all else.

“With its world-class design and downtown location, 71 South Wacker is ideally situated for serving our clients, retaining and recruiting top talent, and increasing our Chicago footprint,” said Kevin Burns, Office Managing Director of the Andersen Tax Chicago office.

“71 South Wacker has been our Chicago home for more than 10 years,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “The building staff, amenities and the modern workplace community has played a big role in why we continue to stay and expand our presence. We look forward to our continued growth here.”

Todd Lippman and Jarrett Annenberg of CBRE represented JAMS.

Steve Schneider of Cushman & Wakefield represented Andersen Tax.

Brad Despot and Annie Nicolau of JLL represented the Irvine Company in both deals.

The Irvine Company entered the Chicago market in 2010, when it acquired the 48-story, 1.5-million square foot 71 South Wacker.  The tower’s elegant elliptical design offers expansive views and houses prestigious customers in hospitality, legal, financial services and technology, including Goldman Sachs, IBM and the law firm of Mayer Brown LLP.

The 60-story 300 North LaSalle overlooking the Chicago River, was acquired by the Irvine Company in 2014. Its ideal setting provides access to the River North neighborhood, including the finest restaurants, shops and entertainment.  Current customers include Kirkland & Ellis, Chicago’s biggest law firm, and management consulting firm Boston Consulting Group.

One North Wacker, UBS Tower is situated in the heart of The Loop. Its iconic architecture coupled with modern stainless steel and glass design, make it one of the most prestigious locations in downtown Chicago.

The Chicago portfolio includes 4.2 million square feet in three Class A+ office high-rise properties that includes the company’s signature amenities, The Commons and KINETIC. The Commons provides comfortable, WiFi enabled spaces for employees to work, meet, innovate or simply take a break; KINETIC is a fitness and wellness movement offering a state-of-the-art fitness center and workplace wellness programming.
