We recently asked our WorkLife community to share how they’re hitting the ground running personally and professionally in 2021. We wanted to know how you’re taking the lessons learned after a challenging year and turning them into meaningful actions.

We’re energized by how many people are committed to taking care of themselves physically and emotionally. You’re getting healthy, staying positive, decluttering your homes, learning new skills, and setting bold business goals– all in service of living your best WorkLife. Many of you are also thinking about your impact on our community and world.

These are three inspiring goals our WorkLife community shared to create a better world for us all.

Note: Some responses have been edited for length and clarity

  1. Giving Back with Charitable Donations
“My goal is to continue to serve my community not only as an individual but as a representative of the company I work for. As a small business, we are committed to upholding our social responsibility to our community and made holiday charitable contributions to Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. We should all challenge ourselves to do something worthwhile for someone else, as we set our goals for the New Year and 2021. Make a promise to give back; it’s a very good thing!”
  2. Building a Stronger Community
“My goal for 2021 is to hold myself personally and professionally accountable for dismantling anti-Black racism in my own sphere, to be an ally, to see and uplift Black colleagues and friends.”
  3. Prioritizing Connection and Reaching Out
“The pandemic forced us to reach deep within to be more creative, organized, and resourceful in order to thrive. It demonstrated to us indeed we are very resilient creatures. Most of all, it showed us the magical humans that are in each of us as we reach out to care for others. My goal for 2021 is to continue to reach out to others to ensure they are okay, knowing that we are in this together, and to be more mindful of this by scheduling blocked time to be a better citizen and participant of this world for others.”
