IRVINE, Calif. (December 12, 2022) — Irvine Company announced today it has earned the WELL Health-Safety Rating for nearly 40 million square feet of its California and Chicago office portfolio through the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI).
The WELL Health-Safety Rating is an evidence-based, third-party verified rating for
new and existing building and space types focusing on operational policies,
maintenance protocols, stakeholder engagement and emergency plans to address a
post-COVID-19 environment now and into the future.

Irvine Company’s approach to workplace wellness has been validated by industry-
leading public health and IEQ experts. UCI Health reviewed Irvine Company’s
comprehensive health and safety plans and protocols to help companies come to the
office with confidence. Irvine Company is also the first in the nation to have its
workplace communities designated as Verified Healthy Buildings for indoor air,
through a program managed by UL.

Irvine Company was awarded the WELL Health-Safety Rating following the
successful completion of an independent, third-party documentation review to
confirm the recognized campuses and buildings have met the feature specific intents
and requirements.
The WELL Health-Safety Rating further validates the high quality health and
wellness features Irvine Company has implemented across its workplace
communities. Optimal air filtration and ventilation are an essential part of Irvine
Company’s long-term commitment to a healthy workplace environment. The
company opted for systems using high-efficiency MERV (minimum efficiency
reporting value) rated air filters, with 100% of high-rise buildings using MERV 13 or
higher. Fresh air exchange is also prioritized at optimal intervals throughout the
workday and after hours.
