CHICAGO, Ill. (January 21, 2025) – Irvine Company today announced strong leasing momentum across its Chicago portfolio since July 1, with nearly one million square feet of premium office space leased to leading global financial institutions and professional service firms spanning the legal, private equity, accounting and insurance sectors. Currently, the Company’s Chicago portfolio is 95% leased.

Irvine Company continues to invest in its Chicago workplaces, with a reinvestment plan underway at 300 North LaSalle that includes a lobby renovation, new craft coffee bar, transformed fitness center, new meeting and event venue, and an enhanced riverfront day to night dining experience. Additionally, the recently completed amenity floor transformation at One North Wacker – part of the building’s $10 million reinvestment – has been well-received by Irvine Company’s customers with its elevated boardroom, flexible innovation hub, and enhanced multi-purpose room and pre-function lounge.

After more than 20 years at One North Wacker, PwC has signed a 10-year lease renewal on its entire 282,577 square foot workplace, which is home to 4,000 team members. The deal is one of the largest downtown recommitments in the last several years.

“We really have so many people coming in that we need (all of) that space to continue to support our people,” Laura Thonn, managing partner of the firm’s Chicago office, told Crain’s Chicago Business. “We have a vibrant and active in-office community, which is energizing to me.”

In August, Barnes & Thornburg announced the expansion of its downtown Chicago office, growing by 30 percent and spanning 96,000 square feet at Irvine Company’s trophy tower, One North Wacker. 

“Our One North Wacker office has long served as a crucial hub for collaboration and innovation among our attorneys, business professionals, clients and community partners,” said Michael A. Carrillo, managing partner of Barnes & Thornburg’s Chicago office. “This new, expanded space will help us foster even more in-person connection, bringing our legal capabilities and service to the next level.”
