Irvine Company today announced nearly 2 million square feet of leasing in Orange County over a six-month period this spring and summer during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

From April 1 to September 30, 2020, Irvine Company workplace community customers expanded, renewed, or signed new leases totaling nearly 2 million square feet in Orange County to 200 companies. The companies include well-known leaders in technology, health care, and financial services.

“We are excited for the opportunity to renew our lease at our corporate headquarters at 40 Pacifica in Irvine. As a part of the renewal process, we considered other properties and none matched the location, proximity to amenities, access to talent, and desirable commute,” said Jim Balas, Chief Financial Officer, CoreLogic. “We have been extremely pleased with the customer service provided by the Irvine Company these past 8 years and look forward to continuing our relationship and our prominent office location within the Orange County community.”

“Companies remain bullish about Orange County’s business climate, our ability to navigate the current healthcare situation and to come back even stronger,” said Tom Greubel, vice president of leasing, Irvine Company Office. “Our industry-leading air filtration and ventilation systems, an unprecedented offering of outdoor work and gathering spaces, and other efforts to help customers come back with confidence was recently reviewed and validated by UCI Health.

The enhancements include:

  • Optimal ventilation and air filtration systems
  • Touch-free enhancements
  • The placement and number of hand sanitizing stations
  • Disinfection protocols
  • The education and communications program on topics such as physical distancing and the importance of face coverings
  • Enhanced safety protocols for elevator use, along paths of travel and in shared common areas such as restrooms and outdoor workspaces
  • Ongoing research into emerging technology surrounding virus mitigation technology

“The company’s workplace communities feature more than 1,000 well-equipped outdoor open-air meeting/gathering spaces. Due to these spaces’ ability to be easily configured to enable social distancing, they have become increasingly important and desirable meeting hubs,” Greubel said.

The company’s Flex Workspace+ offers leases starting at six months and the opportunity to have tailored space move-in ready within 30 days – offering customers the kind of flexibility they need and desire during these unprecedented times.

“Demand for flexible, private office space is on the rise – and so is a focus on workplace wellness due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Irvine Company is a leader in both,” Greubel said.

These leases include many companies who have renewed to stay an Irvine Company customer, as well as more than a dozen new and expanding customers in a diverse array of industries who are moving into Irvine Company workplace communities, including:

  • Reyes Coca Cola Bottling, LLC, 23,250 square feet, Jamboree Center
  • GE Healthcare, 6,500 square feet; Innovyze, 7,100 square feet, UCI Research Park
  • MediaTek, 10,000 square feet, MDXHealth, 8,100 square feet, Irvine Spectrum
